Mike is the founder and president of Black River Productions and SOE TV. Mike heads up the SOE TV team with five years on national TV under his belt. Mike and his family have a wealth of experience in the outdoor industry. Mike’s family has owned a number of hunting lodges across the country. They currently own and operate the SOE Ranch in Texas and Bowlin Camps in Northern Maine. Mike has grown up around commercial hunting all of his life. Mike has also hunted most of North America, and brings more than just hunting experience to the table. He is 27 years old and carries the youthful vibrancy needed in today’s industry. Along with his experience as an outdoorsman, Mike also has an athletic background. Mike played soccer at the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg before transferring to East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina to finish his career. Mike graduated East Carolina University in December, 2003. Along with his outdoor adventure experience, youthfulness, and competitive nature, Mike brings the drive and passion of pursuing dreams and goals in the outdoors.

Jacob Satterfield is a young man passionate about the sport of hunting. He started with his dad on their family farm in Georgia. Then it became one of Jacob’s favorite things to do with his dad. A family friend gave him his first bow for his tenth birthday. He started the next season hunting with it. His dad would film and they would show the hunts to family and friends. They got more interested in filming after he harvested his first deer which they caught on film! In 2004, he made his first hunting trip to Black River Plantation in South Carolina. A family friend’s nephew owned the plantation and was producing a T.V. show. When Jacob got there he was offered to film with Mike and Neal and they said they would use the hunt for their T.V. show because he harvested a 400 lbs. hog with his (second) bow. His dad wanted to do more hunts for them, so he asked if Jacob could become a youth pro-staff for the show. Mike and Neal offered Jacob to become a co-host of Southern Outdoor Experience in hopes to inspire other youngsters to become hunters and to get out and experience the great outdoors. So, now he is known as, Jacob “BUG” Satterfield, and the youth co-host of Southern Outdoor Experience. Jacob has three goals for the show: one, to share God’s glory with everyone; two, to get the youngsters interested in hunting; and three, to just have fun! Remember Jacob is small, but he hunts BIG.

Jamie was raised in rural North Georgia as a farm boy. His family raised cattle and poultry. Although he was not a hunter, as a youngster, he longed to be outdoors while being taught by my father to know different trees and animals. However, his parents were always pushing higher education, so he became a physician. He is currently a pediatrician in metropolitan Charlotte, North Carolina and has been in practice for almost twenty years. Jamie’s days are spent indoors surrounded by God’s children. When he gets out of the office he is ready to hit the woods! He does get to witness to a lot of broken families and unhealthy relationships in families at work. So he always tries to get families more connected and away from our secular society. So, Jamie is always pushing the idea to get outside with your children. After Jamie and his wife, Sharon, were blessed with their son Jacob, he has always looked for ways to spend quality time with him. Instead of golfing on days off or weekends, they are in the great outdoors watching Wild America!
